The stunning views on top of Lookout Mountain can’t compete with the lovey looks these two share. We had so much fun adventuring just up the mountain from Golden, Colorado with Bri and Hunter for this wintery mountain engagement session.

I knew I liked Bri, from our first time chatting on the phone when she said, “I already like your work, I just wanted to talk to you in person and make sure you weren’t crazy.” It was after that that the two of them booked us for their May wedding and we began our fun adventure together.

We planned a mountain engagement session in Golden and after meeting at Starbucks, we made our way to the top of Lookout Mountain to catch the last bits of daylight before a huge storm rolled in. It was crazy cold, but Bri was hardcore and made it through the first part of our time together in her gorgeous flowy blue dress. With her red hair against that gorgeous backdrop, the overcast and fog floating below us… their session was giving me all the Icelandic feels. (Mind you, I’ve never been there, but it was crazy cold and we had amazing mountain views… so… that’s my story).

Between kisses and snuggles, they made sure to keep things light and goofy. Just spending a short amount of time with them, you can see how well they balance each other. They love to laugh and be authentically themselves. This made our time together so enjoyable. Jeremy and Hunter share a lot of similarities in humor, so when we left Jeremy just kept saying, I really like that guy. We get the chance to work with so many couples throughout our career, but having a couple like Bri and Hunter never makes it feel like work. Just time hanging with friends.

Bri is currently a fourth-year medical student who will be graduating with her MD in 2020 just before their wedding. Then taking up ER residency right after they say “I Do.” Hunter was a combat medic who served in Afghanistan and now works as an EMT. Their compassion for other people is one of the million things that attracted them to one another.

At the end of our time together, we all made our way down the mountain to find a great place to eat. Not intending to end up at the same restaurant. But when great minds things alike… they both seek out incredible Himalayan and Indian food at a cute little place called Sherpa House. So after a day of photography we shared a table and some yak and got to know each other more. It was such a fun day and Jeremy and I are so looking forward to celebrating their wedding at Wedgwood at Brittany Hill in Denver.

Fun fact… Bri and Hunter had actually already had their engagement photos taken prior to connecting with us for the wedding day. This is actually more common than you realize and as part of our Wedding Collections, we gift our couples with a complimentary engagement session. Although they didn’t need more photos, the purpose of it really is to get to know each other before the wedding day. I’m so glad we got to spend this time with Bri and Hunter as part of our Wedding Experience. It helped us break the ice and get to know one another before the stress and craziness. Believe me, the last thing you want to be doing on your wedding day is getting to know these crazy people with cameras in your face when you’re trying to be present at your wedding. Instead, you get to have friends you can trust, focus completely on making the day about the two of you.
