“I wanna get lost with you And hide out, out under the light of the moon I wanna get lost with you And see what it’s like to spend the whole night With you, just you You, just you“
Jason Mraz, Let’s See What the Night Can Do
The lyrics that led to the most memorable night of their lives. Sarah knew the day was coming, but she wasn’t sure how or when. As she sat down at her mirror in the dressing room to get ready for her performance. She found the counter filled with beautiful clues to the beginning of a thoughtful scavenger hunt.
After days of clues, she made her way to the spot he first told her he loved her. It was their favorite spot looking over the lake and in the light of his headlights, he asked her to officially be his wife.
Phil is an AMAZING music director and longtime friend of Jeremy and I’s. We first met years ago when we all worked together producing musicals with our company Up In Lights. After we closed our theater company a while back, Phil found an amazing fit for himself at the Candlelight Dinner Playhouse. It was here that he first met Sarah. He was smitten with her from the moment they met and after a brief hiatus from the theater, he came back beyond excited to see her again. She was a leading actress performing on stage and he was the music director. Finding a mutual love for so many things in life, they began dating and the rest is history.
It was probably one of my favorite engagement sessions to date. With constant laughter and one of the sweetest moments, I‘ve seen shared in a long time. My heart was filled to the brim seeing the love these two have for one another. We began our time together at River Bend, Prospect Ponds in Fort Collins, with that golden glow all around us. We really lucked out with gorgeous snow covering the ground from a recent snowstorm.
If you’re from the Fort Collins area, you know how magical the Christmas Lights are in Old Town. Every tree is wrapped in glowing white lights as you walk down sidewalks with canopies of lights overhead. It’s so romantic and makes you feel like you walked right out of a Hallmark Christmas Movie.
So during our session at River Bend, I asked if they’d be open to a little adventure downtown after the sun had set. They, of course, were open for an adventure and just as the sun was setting we found ourselves in a glowing winter wonderland.
Honestly, I can’t look at these photos without smiling ear to ear. The love and complete joy these two find in each other is contagious. I found my jaw actually getting sore from all the smiling I was doing editing these. To see the way that Phil looks at Sarah, I’m not sure happy even does the emotion justice.
Phil and Sarah, I am so glad you found one another. You’re the perfect compliment to each other’s fun, goofy and passionate sides. We are so excited to celebrate with you on your wedding day and beyond! Congrats!
