Growing up, little girls often find themselves captivated by the stories of princesses being rescued by their one true love. Inevitably that romance would end with a grande wedding at a castle on the hill. This my friends, is the story of that princess.
When Niqui, who plays a real life princess and even mermaid, met her sweet prince, it was acting on stage in a local production. Who knew then that this fairytale would get to end with a romantic wedding at the Lionscrest Manor in Lyons, CO. There’s truly no better place for these charismatically in love performers to become husband and wife, than with a rustic whimsical wedding on-top of a mountain in a castle-like estate.
Before the ceremony began, the couple decided to share a First Look. This amazing moment in a very busy day is truly a gift to any couple hoping for alone time on their wedding day. It also allows for lots of extra portraits and time to soak it all in.
However, for this first look, the best man and bride had a trick up their sleeves. Instead of being greeted by his gorgeous bride, Luke turned around face to face with his best friend in a “Wifey” Tee. It was a much welcomed moment that segued perfectly into a joyful and loving time for the bride and groom.
Getting to work with Niqui and Luke is like getting to photograph two models for a high-end fashion line. With a lifetime of experience in the performing arts, these two are naturals in front of the camera. Which made the day so much fun, finding ways to create gorgeous art together.
And just so you know that they are adorable and also human… it doesn’t take them long to break the model face. Each time I’d ask them to look at one other, they’d start with some kind of fierce glance that would always melt into giddy laughter. Proof that they love to have fun and don’t take things “too” seriously.
After their first look, the couple prepared for their ceremony on the lawn of the Manor. Wrapped in a forest of tree’s with the Rocky Mountains as their backdrop, these two actors exchanged some of the most meaningful vows. Their words brought tears to everyone’s eyes and laughter as they revealed their inside jokes. It the perfect ceremony surrounded by friends and family.
With lots of little personalized touches at every turn, one of my favorites was getting to see the artistic talents of Niqui and her sister. With little custom made signs on plexiglass and themed coloring books for the kids; there was works of art everywhere. Even the guestbook was a large canvas with the bride and groom drawn in cartoon fashion. (You’ll have to scroll to see this!)
It was a gorgeous celebration that we felt so lucky to be a part of. Niqui and Luke you bring such beautiful balance and passion to each other’s lives. I can’t wait to see the outpouring of blessing on your marriage. Congratulations again!
