It’s such a beautiful thing, when a variety of cultures can come together and celebrate the love of two people. Love is the one thing that transcends language barriers, cultural differences and even COVID. Shahnoza and Dmitriy’s romantic rustic wedding at The Mill was a celebration with no boundaries.
It takes a very special couple for us to say yes to an August 20th wedding date. Why? That day is typically reserved for our own celebration. And this year, Jeremy and I celebrated 14 years of marriage capturing the love of Shahnoza and Dmitriy. Getting to know these two this past year has been so much fun. And after our engagement session with them last month, we couldn’t wait to share our wedding date!
A fun fact about us. Jeremy and I actually love shooting weddings together. That probably seems like an obvious fact, otherwise, why would we do it? But, we also look at shooting weddings like it’s a date. We get to have childcare all day. We get all dressed up. We get to spend time together being creative. And best of all, we get to be reminded at each wedding the importance of the vows we shared.
One thing that stands out the most about this couple is their faith. They made sure that above all else they took their first steps as man and wife covered in prayer; which was an emotional and beautiful part of their ceremony. And although we couldn’t track along with the entire service, the importance of the words were translated in the tearful smiles of the bride. You could feel the depth of each promise made and it was in those moments that I was reminded that love transcends all barriers. This was actually my first wedding in an unfamiliar language. And in many ways it was one of the most meaningful.
The reception was filled with loads of entertainment. With performances by friends and family and even a special song sung by the bride to her new husband. These two are certainly surrounded by some very talented people. They even showcased their dance skills with a beautifully choreographed first dance to the song “Speechless.”
Getting to be at The Mill for one of their first weddings was such an honor. The recently reconstructed flour mill, is a unique and stylish venue, with a modern-industrial design. The owners went above and beyond to make sure that the needs of their couple were met.
The Bridal House is an adorable little cottage right next door, and is the perfect place for your entire bridal party to get ready. With a sweet dressing area, sitting rooms, and even hangers for your attire. They spared no expense in making this feel like a bride’s dream way to get ready.
As our time together came to a close, Jeremy and I made our way down to the catacombs of The Windsor Mill to The Windsor Tavern. It was a wonderful ending to a very special and unique anniversary.
We knew that the bride and groom really wanted photos of their sparkler exit, which was taking place right outside the Tavern. So at 10pm, we grabbed our camera’s and captured a few photos of a moment we knew they wanted to remember.
Shahnoza and Dmitriy, it was a total honor to be there with you on your wedding day. Surrounded by one of the best bridal parties, the sweetest family and so much love, we couldn’t have asked for a better way to celebrate our anniversary. Your wedding day will be one we never forget. Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Voytukhov.
