The romance factor was off the charts for Karly and Hunter’s sunset engagement session in Fort Collins, Colorado! Picture a photo shoot combined with date night, set against the stunning backdrop of the cliffs of Horsetooth. 

We battled yet another rainstorm which seems to be the pattern for 2023 in Colorado. In fact, their first session was rescheduled due to a massive thunderstorm! At this point, it just makes for a great story and a good laugh!

Upon our arrival, we decided to wait out the downpour from the safety of our vehicles. Thankfully, the storm moved on and we were able to capture some stunning images of Karly and Hunter overlooking the beautiful Horsetooth mountain. The wind proved to be a challenge, but it’s nothing we haven’t handled before! We were also blessed with a truly epic sky which provided the most romantic backdrop for these two.

The romance continued as we made our way to Old Town Fort Collins. As we got settled on the rooftop of one of the many gorgeous buildings, the sky really started to show off. Meanwhile, Karly and Hunter began dancing, and right on cue, beautiful music filled the air. An impromptu saxophone player across the alley began serenading them as they rehearsed their wedding dance. We couldn’t snap pictures fast enough! It was crazy romantic and absolute perfection.

Engagement shoots are such a fun way to ease the nerves for our couples. We loved laughing with these two as we worked through our posing and prompts to be sure they’re comfortable in front of our cameras by the time their wedding day arrives.

We are big fans of making date night a priority even while you’re in the thick of wedding planning. After all, life is busy, and it can be challenging to find time to put your relationship first. We also recommend focusing the conversation on something besides the wedding. 

Finally, don’t forget to keep dating each other even after you’re married! Jeremy and I always set aside one night each week to go out on a date. It doesn’t have to be fancy – we just know we need alone time to stay connected.

Likewise, Karly shared that she loves “how wise (Hunter) is. He shows me the world outside my self-imposed limits. Having him by my side makes me feel safe and encouraged to become a better person.”
