There are few places on earth as spectacular as Garden of the Gods. And for these two world travelers it was the perfect backdrop to celebrate their upcoming wedding in Colorado Springs.

Meeting through mutual friends, Grey and Austin began dating while attending college at the University of Oklahoma. As they prepared to enter their senior year, Austin invited all of Grey’s family into town for a little surprise. At the very spot he asked her on their first date, Grey was treated to a romantic stroll down memory lane as pictures of their relationship were strung along the path leading to her proposal. Fast forward to one year later, and here we are, just one short month away from these to walking down another path to I DO!

On one of the hottest days so far this year, we found ourselves at the Rocky Mountain Playground, Garden of the Gods, with Grey and Austin for their engagement session. If you haven’t been here before, it’s a jaw dropping geological wonder. Packed with miles of trails that wind around towering formations and gorgeous views of Pikes Peak.

After spending an afternoon with these two, we could tell almost immediately that they are head over hills, smitten with one another. Sharing constant giggles and loving glances, they really compliment each other so perfectly. It’s always so fun for us to share in an engagement session with our BG Couples. It really gives us an opportunity to see what they are all about and what makes them tick.

Grey was a rock start to say the least, sporting her adorable wedges as we hiked and climbed the formations to get those epic mountain shots. I thought for sure she was going to roll and ankle and we’d all be carrying her out. But being way more athletic than myself, she was fearless and kept that gorgeous smile all day.

I think one of my favorite things I learned about these two is how much they compliment each other. With tender moments and laughter in-between every shot, these two know how to keep each other at ease and be totally present with one another. It just makes your heart happy to see that kind of love.

When I’m getting to know my BG Couples, one of the questions I always ask is what they love most about one another. And here’s what they had to say:

“I love her laugh. I get to hear it a lot, cause I think she thinks I’m kinda funny. Sometimes when she thinks something is really funny she won’t make any noise, but I think it’s the cutest thing ever.” – Austin

“I love his sense of humor and how he is always willing to be silly with me. I love how well he loves others and has intentional relationships with the people in his life.” – Grey

I don’t know them as well as their friends and family do, but I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if these two became world-changers. A power house couple that can do anything and everything together.
