What do you do when a storm rolls in out of nowhere and you’re about to start an engagement session? You look for shelter and prepare yourself for some EPIC shots.

Shooting at Horsetooth Reservoir in Fort Collins is by far one of my favorite local spots. But after shooting there so often, I forget how vast the possibilities are on this huge lake. So Jeremy and I decided to arrive early for our engagement session to scout out some new territory. And in this case, find shelter from those intense gusts of wind.

WOWZA! The wind was absolutely insane. But after our couple traveled all the way from Denver for our session, we knew we just had to make it work.

So when Shahnoza and Dmitriy rolled up, their smiles welcomed us right in. Full of joy and excitement for our adventure, we made our way to some new spots with hopes that we might hide a bit from the craziness. Fortunately, these two love to snuggle, so finding ways to block the wind was no problem. And to be honest, it definitely added to the romance.

Similar to Jeremy and I, Shahnoza and Dmitriy met at church. So let this be a little tip for all you single folks out there… you can find your perfect match anywhere. But connecting with someone who values what you value is HUGE. So if your faith is important, maybe try getting plugged in there. You never know who God might bring into your life when you least expect it. Or Tinder. You can also try Tinder. I honestly can’t knock tinder after all our BG Couples who’ve found love online! But that, a story for another day friends!

So after these two met at church and 7 months of dating, Dmitriy knew that Shahnoza was the one. So during a picnic on the lake, one of their favorite things to do together, he asked her to be his wife!
