Landry and Luke’s gorgeous wedding at Deer Creek Valley Ranch was the perfect culmination of their beautiful love story. For these high school sweethearts, finally tying the knot was a dream come true! After facing the challenge of being apart due to Luke’s commitment to the Air Force Academy and Landry being away at college, their wedding day was truly a celebration of a love that endures.
Landry and Luke wanted to be sure to capture as many moments as possible, big and small. This way, they would be sure to have memories of everything, including the candid moments they may have otherwise been lost in the busyness of the day. We were more than happy to deliver!
The day started off with a complete and total downpour. When we arrived, it was raining like crazy. But we’re not ones to let a little rain intimidate us. Without fail, it always seems the clouds part and skies clear at just the right moment. Today was no exception, and the rain moved out just before we began taking portraits. We were blessed with perfect weather for the rest of the day.
Deer Creek Valley definitely lived up to its name as deer made an appearance in the valley just before the ceremony. This incredible venue is just over-the-top dreamy. The owners, Tim and Christian, have created a romantic and intimate mountain setting like no other. Since it’s a family-run venue, there’s just something so personal and inviting. It’s the perfect location for a mountain wedding!
Witnessing a marriage covenant is always so emotional, but Landry and Luke’s ceremony was extra meaningful. The groom’s uncle gave the sermon, sharing incredible details about the couple. Something about their story stuck with me, and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it!
The bride and groom told him their goal was to make the world a better place. When asked how he planned to do that, Luke answered with complete sincerity, “Maybe it’s not about me making it a better place, but instead it’s by me loving and supporting Landry’s dreams so she can.”
There’s simply nothing better than witnessing a couple truly becoming one. Partners in every aspect of their lives, ready and willing to take on the world together while fully supporting each other’s hopes and dreams. I’ll never get over it!
Time and again, we overheard people saying how these two are just better together. We totally agree. The toasts given by the groom’s brother and bride’s sisters had the entire room in a puddle of tears! This family has an incredibly special bond, and the love they have for each other just radiates.
During the reception, the bride’s father gave us a peek at his necktie. The underside featured a sweet photo of Landry when she was a little girl at a daddy-daughter dance they attended. It was just the sweetest reflection of his love for her, and a reminder to him that she’ll always be his little girl. The two of them took the dance floor and shared a very emotional father-daughter dance.
The incredible team at Prive organized the florals for the day. They executed every detail with excellence, creating a stunning display at every turn. Biscuits and Berries presented an incredible dinner buffet. Everything was delicious, including the yummy little hand pies and treats!
The DJs absolutely nailed it, filling the room with such a crowd-pleasing energy. It was so much fun to watch the bouquet toss and immediately hear the DJ bust out “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!” by A Man After Midnight! I mean, the place went absolutely CRAZY! The crowd screamed their faces off and celebrated right along with the lucky lady who caught the bouquet.
And there truly was so much to celebrate. With this being an Air Force wedding, the majority of the groomsmen (including the groom!) had just graduated the week before. We loved getting to celebrate with all the Air Force Academy grads!
Landry and Luke sent so many letters back and forth while dating long distance. Well, the bride kept them all! She shared this incredibly special memento with us, and it was just about the most romantic gesture we’ve ever seen. In a world of technology and texting, it was so beautiful to see how this young couple has a treasure trove of memories in the form of love letters.
This wedding brought a mix of people from all over, making it an incredible destination wedding. From Landry’s college friends from Texas to graduates from the Air Force Academy here in Colorado, it was a beautiful gathering of people who have loved Landry and Luke through so many phases of their lives.
As they enter this brand new phase, they’ll soon begin an exciting journey together to build a new life in Virginia. But first…an epic honeymoon in sunny Cancun! Landry and Luke, thank you for the honor of being part of your special day. We wish you all the happiness in the world!
