Colorado Fall Wedding with Retro Elegance

When love radiates from every detail of a couple’s wedding day, it reminds us exactly why we love doing what we do. What an honor it was to capture Sarah and Payden’s Sweet Heart Winery wedding. Filled to the brim with thoughtfulness and hints of retro elegance, this intimate yet relaxed wedding day was a subtle throwback in so many ways.

Laid back vibes and lots of laughter set the tone for an incredible celebration! We joined in the festivities just as Sarah and Payden were getting dressed. It was instantly clear that so much thought went into this special day.

We love it when our BGP couples give us a glimpse into their unique personalities, and it’s all in the details. There was so much charm incorporated throughout, from their incredibly unique and gorgeous wedding invitation suite to the bags of coffee for each guest, labeled “The Perfect Blend.” I mean…can you even handle it!?

The florals were stunning throughout the venue. Baby’s breath cascaded down the sides of wine barrels marking the ceremony site, adding the most simple, romantic touch.

But the real showstopper was the florals displayed around the wine barrel shelves just behind the couple’s sweetheart table. White roses, greenery, and baby’s breath softly framed the rustic wooden barrels creating a breathtaking visual display. Jaw. On. Floor.

Sarah was an absolute knockout in her romantic, modern dress by Anna Kara, and we loved capturing the couple’s private first look. Our portrait time was interrupted by a quick rain shower (this seems to be a pattern with the Colorado weather!) but we still grabbed some epic shots under the huge oak trees lining the river.

Sarah and Payden’s ceremony was so sweet and super emotional! Cocktail hour immediately followed, with guests fully enjoying a grazing table by Mangia Mangia. Sweet Heart Winery kept the wine flowing, making the guests happy as we stole the couple away for some beautiful golden hour photos in the field! I’m telling you, these images took my breath away. These two are so incredibly in love, and it made photographing them so easy.

The couple made their grand entrance into the barrel room (ahh, that gorgeous barrel room!) for the reception and made an instant beeline for the Estes Park Pizza Truck for a delicious post-wedding meal.

Pizza is my favorite food group, and this pizza truck was a huge hit! They provided both unique and classic pizza options served hot to order right from their wood fire oven! Total win in my book!

If I had to pick one of my favorite memories from the day, it would be that the entire event was just so nostalgic! We celebrated with hits from the Dirty Dancing soundtrack during the ceremony and reception, and it made my little romantic heart giddy with happiness! Tell me you don’t just fall to pieces when you hear those first drum hits before “Be My Baby!”

The adorable couple snapped dozens of Polaroids, capturing sweet moments throughout the night, which only added to their throwback theme.

Their cookie cake has to be one of my favorite desserts that Cupcake Gypsies have ever created for a couple! The frosting was like a buttery, brown sugar slice of heaven. SO YUMMY!

The evening wrapped up with a fun sparkler exit – major win! The bride rocked some heart-shaped sunglasses and a fluffy fur coat, which just made the perfect finishing touch for such a laid-back, fun-loving evening.

It was a night to remember, and we felt so lucky to be there! Congrats to these two on a beautiful wedding day. Here’s to an amazing marriage!
