What does bravery look like to you? For some, it can be getting back up after you’ve been knocked down. For others, it can be stepping out of your comfort zone and trying something new. Different circumstances, call for different types of brave and in those moments we’re presented with a choice. The choice can be very risky, but as a good friend once told me, on the other side of risk is joy. The greater the risk, the greater the joy you have the potential to experience. Cause if we only ever do what is easy or safe, we never know what we could be missing out on with one brave step.

When I first met Tiffany, I learned very quickly she was both kind of brave. She has stepped into the unknown and also stepped outside her comfort zone. In fact, when she told me how she moved to Colorado on her own, with no connection to the state at all, in fact, she had never even been here before. My first response was, “wow girl, you are so brave.” I don’t know if I could have taken such a bold step myself.

But it was when she shared with me how she and Anthony met that I was truly blown away by her bravery. Being new here, her co-workers recommended that she try out the county bar The Grizzly Rose. So BY HERSELF, she went to watch the older couples dance and enjoy the atmosphere. She had every intention of just sitting there alone, but after being asked 4 times by the same guy to dance, she finally gave in. This guy was an amazing dancer, so good in fact, he twirled Tiffany right onto the floor. And with loads of laughs and an undeniable connection, thus began their adorable relationship.

Even sharing this here I can’t help but think, this is the kind of stuff movies are made of. If Tiffany hadn’t taken a HUGE step in moving here and then found herself at The Grizzly Rose that night, the two of them may have never met. And now… Tiffany’s risk brought her the most unbelievable joy. I get goosebumps just thinking about it. And seeing the two of them together is like watching your favorite Rom-Com where you are just captivated by their love. They are silly and down-to-earth and exactly the type of people I love being around.

When Anthony decided to propose it was during a quick getaway to Steamboat Springs. They were sledding and enjoying the beauty of the Rocky Mountains, when just before he was going to propose, Tiffany pushed him into a giant snowbank and ran away. She had no idea he was trying to ask for her hand till later, but when he finally went down on one knee, she, of course, said yes and the rest is history. Fortunately, that story will be told for years to come, when they laugh over Tiffany’s missed proposal.

After learning so much about these two, you can imagine it was no surprise when they had their hearts set on a country-themed engagement session, with a stop at the place it all began. Trina at The Grizzly Rose was so incredibly kind and allowed us to come in to capture some romantic shots of these two on the dance floor and the ledge where they met. It was absolutely perfect. And getting to see the two of them looking at each other, taking in all the memories they had shared, just made your heart sing.

After soaking up the memories inside, we took a little tour around the area in search of a park for some photos with Anthony’s really small truck. Actually the wheels alone where the size of my 7-year-old, but it was honestly the perfect “prop” for some golden hour goodness. I can’t say we found a patch of grass easily, being that it’s April in Colorado and we were in the industrial part of Denver. But after some hilarious adventures, we found a tiny park just across from a military armory… random, I know. But getting to look back on these gorgeous photos and know that we made a miracle happen out of almost nothing, is part of the fun.

Tiffany and Anthony, I can’t tell you how excited Jeremy and I are to share these with you. And in just a few short months, you will be getting married!!!! We are so looking forward to that day and hope that getting to relive your engagement story helps put you at ease and focus on the joy you’re going to experience for the rest of your lives.
