Every engagement should be filled with laughter and romance, and this mountain winter engagement with Jenny and Zach was the perfect balance of the two. With snowy forests and sunny rustic trails, you’d think we went on adventure all across Colorado to celebrate these two.

I always find it so fun planning these engagement adventures with our couples. We spend so much time getting to know each one, that it feels almost like we’re creating a date night that perfectly tells their story. It’s no small feat to take into consideration their style, the time of year, the theme and how far we’re planning to travel. So when Colorado decided to drop to way below freezing temps, we had to pivot our plans a bit to make this session happen.

But Jenny and Zach are absolutely worth it. And getting to know them through consultations over a glass of wine or emailing back and forth about wedding plans has been nothing but fun. We look forward to any chance we get to laugh and share stories back and forth. I honestly don’t think this business would be nearly has fulfilling if we didn’t get to feel like we’re serving our couples like they’re our dearest friends.

Now who are Jenny and Zach you might be thinking? Well, settle in kids. It’s time for some romance, and like any good love story, it all begins with food. More specifically pizza.

One spectacular night, Jenny was diving into a yummy slice of Mac-n-cheese pizza, when Zach dropped the L-word. Mouths full, they both confessed their love on one of the most memorable dates they could recall.

What can you say? When you know, you just know. And within the first year of dating, these two crazy kids knew getting married wasn’t a question of if but when.  So when Jenny and Zach spent a romantic night dancing under the stars at their now wedding venue, Sweet Heart Winery, the wedding bug hit them hard.  There’s really nothing like attending a wedding to start planting those thoughts of wedded bliss.

So it came as no surprise when Zach started planning the perfect proposal in March of 2020. For those of you who might have missed it, that’s also the month our country went into lockdown. So pivoting his plans, he held off on proposing and came up with a Plan B.

Celebrating her Birthday the following month Jenny received the greatest of all gifts, a fiancé. Not even a global pandemic could stop this love story, it might have just put a slight delay to their plans.  

What Zach loves most about Jenny:

“One of the most magical experiences a person can have with another person is when you can have an entire conversation with a look and immediately be on the same wavelength without so much as a whisper. I am lucky to get to experience that with Jenny often. I think that is only possible because Jenny is one of the rarest gems found in this world: a true listener. She is able to listen, not just with her ears but with her heart which only amplifies her kindness and compassion for others. This simple trait is something I constantly and consistently fall in love with, every single day. She uses this superpower to confound me, challenge me to be better, and communicate with me in ways that I didn’t even know were possible. I love that Jenny is thoughtful, altruistic, brave, loving and goofy. With all that said, I think what I love most about her is how much I know she loves me.” 

What Jenny loves most about Zach:

“I love his giggle when he knows he just came up with a really good design idea. He sounds like a kid in a candy shop that just found his favorite treat! I love his random exclamations and crazy ideas. But mostly, I love that he can bring me down to earth when I’m anxious and he makes me feel so confident and happy to be myself. I love that he wants to be a dad just as much as I want to be a mom. I’m so in love with the way he looks at me randomly, usually when I’m eating, and tells me how much he loves me. He’s my person!” 

I feel like I could share story after story of how these two fit together like the last two pieces of a puzzle.  But honestly, you only have to spend five minutes with them to see the beautiful love they share.  Even in the most simple moments they know how to make each other laugh and feel like the only person in the room.  And laughter in my opinion, is the key to a long happy marriage.  

Jenny and Zach, we can’t wait to share in the joy, when you two become man and wife!  It’s gonna be legendary!!!
