Romantic Vineyard Wedding at Hillside

Alyssa and Taylor are so special to us in countless ways, and Jeremy and I left with full hearts after their Hillside Vineyard Wedding. Nothing brings us more joy than having the honor of serving as the photographer and videographer for the biggest day in a couple’s life!

It’s completely normal for most wedding days to come with a few hiccups. But when the couple fully trusts their photo and video team, it makes it so much easier to go with the flow and make last minute changes!

The weather in Colorado is unpredictable at times. Okay…all the time. So when a heat wave took over their big day, Alyssa and Taylor were so flexible in allowing us to be creative when finding new portrait locations. It was crazy hot and so bright outside, so we simply had to pause and take a break, making adjustments as we went.

Throughout the entire process, we just had a whole lot of fun being creative and connecting with everyone. Our goal is to keep the wedding party comfy and happy so we can provide them with the stunning portraits that our clients have come to know and love.

We made our way down the road to an enormous oak tree at the entrance to the vineyard, and I’m so incredibly glad we did! With 98 degree temperatures and not a cloud in the sky, it was such a gift to find a shady spot where we could capture the love of the moment without completely melting!

I can’t fully describe how emotional the daddy-daughter first look was. Let’s just say, it absolutely wrecked me! I snuck a peek at Jeremy and noticed his eyes were totally welling up, too! Alyssa’s dad loves his baby girl so much, and was completely overcome with emotion when seeing her in her dress for the first time.

The groom’s first look was just as emotional. When Taylor turned around he covered his mouth, overcome with emotion. He stood there, taking it all in for a moment before walking towards his bride. Alyssa simply took his breath away! She was truly stunning, from head to toe. Her gorgeous dress from Dora Grace Bridal was made complete with a show-stopping cathedral length veil.

Both her clutch and the hanger holding her dress were made from fabric from her mom’s wedding dress, which added the perfect sentimental touch to her day.

Both Alyssa and Taylor’s family provided the couple with numerous labors of love. But a standout was the gorgeous wooden cross made by the bride’s dad. Its stunning detail would impress any carpenter! He also created the backdrop for the couple’s head table. A custom neon sign reading “The Clapps” hung against lush greenery covering the wall, representing the beginning of their new life together.

Despite the heat, this was truly one of the most thoughtful and meaningful ceremonies we’ve ever witnessed. Sprinkled with emotional promises and personal vows, the moment was topped off with a time of prayer for the entire family while Kari Jobe’s “The Blessing” played softly in the background.

My eyes instantly filled with tears! Although come to think of it, it was crazy hot so it could have been sweat. HA! But seriously, the love felt for Alyssa and Taylor was so tangible and it was such an honor to be present in that moment.

Many couples worry that once the ceremony is over, they’re going to be away from their guests for too long while spending time taking portraits. This is a concern we completely understand, which is why it’s important to us to create portrait time throughout the day rather than taking them all at once. Instead of being anxious during photographs because they’ve left their guests waiting, couples can rest easy knowing their time following the ceremony will be spent with those they love.

Our BGP couples know how much we love to sneak them out for romantic sunset portraits! You can imagine how much they build up the moment in their minds in the months leading up to their wedding day. Being able to make the moment a reality makes Jeremy and I incredibly happy. So when we heard Alyssa squeal with delight, we knew we were serving her well.

What better way to celebrate at a vineyard wedding than to have customized bottles of wine! The bride and groom bottled their own wine for the wedding day, complete with custom labels. They even had three very special bottles for guests to sign. Each bottle will be shared on milestone anniversaries as they celebrate 1, 3, and 5 years of marriage. It was the perfect touch and will serve as a reminder of this incredible day for years to come!

High Country Catering served up a delicious fall-inspired meal. They were wonderful to work with, and even brought out appetizers for the bride and groom while they took family photos after the ceremony. There’s nothing more thoughtful than providing snacks for a tired but elated couple on their wedding day!

Lindsey from the Hillside Vineyard was an absolute rock star! She tended to the couple’s every need, even getting down on the ground at one point to scrub some dirt off the bride’s dress! She thought of everything, and her whole team went above and beyond.

The evening wrapped up with beautiful toasts, full of laughter and tears as each person shared meaningful words and memories of the couple. Stories of their lives before meeting each other and now how wonderful they are together painted a beautiful picture of their unique love story.

The first dance was like something out of a movie, complete with lifts and everything! (Bonus points if you can guess which movie we’re thinking of!) It was romantic, unique, and full of excitement all at once!

To balance out their first dance, the couple ended the night with a private last dance under the glow of the gazebo lights. It was just the perfect opportunity to slow down and soak in all the love and happiness from the day.

Alyssa and Taylor, thank you for trusting us with some of the most special moments of your lives. We wish you all the joy and happiness the future holds for you! Congratulations and best wishes!
