What could be better than finding a love that makes you feel captivating? Well on top of the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, we shared an afternoon with two of the sweetest people. And I think we are lucky enough to say, we witnessed it first hand.

When the engagement session for Lexi and Wyatt was finished, we all ran to our cars in hopes of regaining feeling in our frozen fingers. Ya’ll, it is SO COLD at Lily Lake in Estes Park. The wind that comes off the lake in the winter will freeze you to your core. But the views are just spectacular and totally worth it. So as the chill wore off the first thing I said to my husband Jeremy was, “I can’t get over how Lexi looks at Wyatt. She just completely adores him.”

Maybe it’s the fact that we’ve known Wyatt since he was in high school, but there was this maternal joy that I felt as I watched him experience the kind of love he deserves. He’s a hard-working man, a friend to the end and goes above and beyond when there’s a need to fill. And getting to watch as Lexi loved on him, laughed with him and gave him so much attention… it just made my heart so happy.

Lexi and Wyatt met during college. She at the University of Northern Colorado and he at Colorado State University. And during a social between their sorority and fraternity, Lexi had approached a group of guys to see if any of them would like to play euchre. Now if you’re like me, googling the game because you’ve literally never heard of it.

Euchre is a trick-taking card game that has something to do with the joker and a deck of cards. And… I obviously still know nothing about it. But hey, Wyatt knew how to play that night and the game brought these two crazy kids together. So it’s probably worth learning. After a few rounds of cards the two found themselves at the Sundance swing dancing the night away and the rest, as they say, is history.

Wyatt and Lexi, we are so incredibly happy that you’ve found each other. You really bring out the best in one another and we are beyond excited to be celebrating your wedding day with you soon. For now, soak up every moment of this season and find time to just be together. Congrats on your engagement!
