Tara + Rushton’s Intimate Sunset Wedding

April 28, 2021

A romantic first look under a canopy of branches and sunset in front of the Fort Collins Temple, made this bride and groom’s intimate portraits an evening we will never forget.

When a storm is predicted for the very moment you’ll be pronounced man and wife, there’s part of you that wishes you could’ve had your wedding portraits taken on a different day. Now this isn’t exactly an option for most people, and realistically that would mean getting all dolled up twice (not that I think anyone would mind getting to wear their dress twice).

So when Tara and Rushton’s private ceremony was scheduled to take place early in the morning, they’d already made the choice to spend some quality time together the evening before their big day to capture some romantic portraits.

It’s safe to say this was an excellent choice for more than one reason. One, because we got to spend hours sharing a first look and portraits surrounded by warm glowy light, and two, because the weather was predicted to massively change by morning.

Mind you, the choice to capture these stunning photos had nothing to do with the weather, but the next day when Tara and Rushton walked out of the Temple and into a freezing wind storm, we were thanking the Lord for our time together the evening before.

Tara’s gorgeous long sleeved, lace gown was from David’s Bridal, and her stunning bouquet was created by the talented florists at Palmer Flowers. Rushton is somewhat of an expert in the suite department, and after working at Men’s Wearhouse, he custom designed his navy suit.

This sweet couple met each other while attending school at BYU – Idaho, and after dating a bit, Rushton surprised Tara with a ring on her Birthday. Getting to celebrate the love between these two, two days in a row, was such a gift. And we are so grateful to have been there as they exited the Temple as husband and wife, celebrating with their closest friends and family.

Tara and Rushton, we wish you the best and congratulations!
