Ereka and Andy’s romantic destination wedding at The Landing at Estes Park was the perfect Rocky Mountain getaway for their closest friends and family.
Sure there may have been a bit of rain trying to put a kink in the day’s plans, but in true Colorado fashion, we waited out the storm and enjoyed a breathtaking ceremony along the river.
It’s days like this that remind me that we can only control so much, but what we can control is what we choose to let get us down. So as we wandered down by the river for Ereka’s bridal portraits, it of course began to rain. Making the best of it, we found a clearing in the tree’s with tall large branches, high enough up to create a well lit and dry canopy.
So as Andy found his way to his bride, the two enjoyed the sweetest first look under the shelter of a little umbrella and the branches of Pine. It was honestly perfect, and without really knowing what was to come later weather wise, we moved quickly to ensure we would have a beautiful gallery of portraits for the two of them.
The weather of course cleared up after some small talk on the porch and a few snuggles with their adorable Dog of Honor. And an honorable mention for the stunning hair and makeup by Chaundra Revier of Glam5280, which also held up incredibly well in the elements. It’s so important to have a great Hair and Makeup stylist who understands that you want to look natural and have it last through the tears, sweat and possible storms.
As we strolled around The Landing, it was so much fun having this riverside retreat exclusively for the wedding guests. It was truly the epitome of a destination wedding in Colorado being surrounded by mountains in your own little village.
The cocktail hour was also a huge hit, taking place up on the upper deck overlooking the Rocky Mountains. The charcutterie and appetizers were beautifully displayed by Greens Point Catering and the cocktails were flowing from the bar of Party Liquor.
And after the cocktail hour was complete, guests found themselves in a rustic farmtable style reception, with the room connected in one large rectangle of tables facing inward. The florals that draped along the tablescapes were such an elegant touch by the artists at Lace and Lillies.
Ereka and Andy’s wedding day is one I will truly never forget. The smiles these two share when they are snuggled up in one another’s arms are enough to make you melt. Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Schmitz! Thank you for sharing your memories with us.
