Spring Garden Wedding at McCreery House

These cold winter days have us dreaming of springtime! There’s nothing quite like spring in Colorado, and today we’re reminiscing about one of the most beautiful and whimsical spring garden weddings we’ve ever seen.

In Colorado, the mountains get all the attention, but we’re going to let you in on a little secret. Nothing can describe the gorgeous, lush landscape of Colorado in late spring, just before the summer heat kicks into full gear.

Taylor and Michael’s spring garden wedding was picture perfect. Just imagine The Secret Garden in full, real-life splendor! Taylor did a stunning job of incorporating a whimsical and romantic vibe into every detail. With colors of sage, navy, blush, and gold at every turn, this wedding was truly a vision.

The bride got ready upstairs in the quaint, romantic suite of the historic McCreery House. This is just one of many historical Victorian homes in downtown Loveland. The McCreery House is unique because it has its own private yard and garden which makes the perfect setting for a springtime wedding.

The owner, Julie Marsh, truly makes you feel like you’re a guest at her home. She went above and beyond to take care of everyone, while also being professional and organized. I loved watching her hug and greet every vendor as they walked in the door!

The amazing thing about this part of Loveland is that it’s also filled with plenty of Airbnbs for guests to stay. The Marriott downtown is another practical option for out-of-towners to settle in for the weekend, which was perfect for the many guests traveling in town for the big day.

Taylor and Michael opted not to see each other before the ceremony, which truly magnified Michael’s reaction at the altar. When he saw Taylor for the first time, his genuine shock and surprise was so incredibly moving. Clearly, he was in complete disbelief that this gorgeous bride walking toward him would soon become his wife! Everyone was a puddle of tears!

The romance overflowed into the reception, where table runners in soft blush colors were complemented with vibrant greenery, making the tablescapes a well-deserved focal point. The tables were topped with gold chargers, and the plates at the head table were labeled with custom-carved nameplates.

Custom made cake toppers resembled the couple’s “doppelgangers” from their video games, which added such a fun personal touch! The cake itself was created by the fabulous Cupcake Gypsies. The couple also offered guests some delicious pie which went perfectly with their garden wedding theme!

Juli y Jaun’s Kitchen provided a fully custom menu for the couple. Highlights included French inspired foods such as lamb in Persillade with mint relish and Ratatouille. All the parents out there will also appreciate the thoughtful gesture of having the option of pepperoni pizza for the kids! As for catering companies, you won’t find one better in Northern Colorado. These guys are incredible, and truly the ones to call if you’re a total foodie like us. We all felt so spoiled with such a fabulous meal!

As the sun began to set behind the mountains, guests prepared themselves for toasts, with the perfect compliment, custom bride and groom cocktails! The yummy Huckleberry Mule and Cuba Libre from Elixir Bartending were the stars of the show as guests raised their glasses to the couple.

I have to say, I think having a live wedding painter might have been one of the most romantic parts of this entire experience! We’ve worked with Julia Dordoni before at Grey + Austin’s wedding at Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs, and she’s wildly talented! She painted the ceremony site LIVE throughout the wedding. I simply couldn’t get over it – such a beautiful and unique addition to remember the day by!

Finally, the afterparty was held on the Rooftop of Desk Chair. It’s such a unique space and was perfect for keeping the celebration going! Red Robin delivered late-night snacks and everyone danced the night away while overlooking the lights of downtown Loveland

Taylor and Michael, your spring garden wedding was one for the books! We’re so grateful we had the opportunity to be a part of it!
