Jenna + Terril's Rustic Mountain Wedding

As we arrived at the ranch, we were overwhelmed by the beauty of this gem tucked back in the woods of Granby, CO. Jenna and Terril’s wedding day was perfection beginning to end, with heartfelt moments shared between everyone and a powerful ceremony leaving everyone in tears. These two began their journey as husband and wife with God at the center of it all.

But that’s not to say the day was heavy with emotion the entire time. I mean it wouldn’t have been Jenna and Terril’s wedding without tons of fun, lots of laughter and of course dancing. Jenna even began the day line dancing with her bridesmaids as they anxiously waited the day ahead.

As soon as Jenna put on her dress, her mom and sister could barely hold back tears. The day was about to begin, and so after a fun bridesmaid first look, Jenna made her way to a first look with her father. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a dad be so overwhelmed by the sight of his gorgeous daughter. His joy and pride in her showed all over his face and maybe a tear or two streaming down mine. It was a truly special time that I’m thrilled Jenna took a moment for.

Sometimes we forget that this is a big day for the parents too. So any chance we can get to squeeze in time for the bride and groom to spend with them before the ceremony is worth it.

After two very beautiful first looks with her dad and bridesmaids, Jenna headed out to see her groom near a grove of aspen tree’s. They started with an emotional letter reading back-to-back then went straight into the sweetest first look. It’s an honor to witness such a treasured moment with our couples, knowing they’ll get to relive this over and over again in photos and film.

There wasn’t a bad view no matter which way you faced. Surrounded by stunning mountains and groves of aspen, we found the perfect spot for portraits with our couple and their wedding party before the ceremony.

We always like to provide our couples with as many opportunities as they’d like to escape for a bit to take some portraits. So aside from photos after a first look, we also take a small window of time for some just married portraits after the ceremony and finally at sunset while all their guests are enjoying their meals.

With yummy catering provided by Black Diamond Gourmet, the couple chose a build-your-own Baked Potato and Taco Bar for their guests, and instead of cake they had their friends and family bring their treasured family recipes for a dessert table.

Jenna and Terril have a very special bond over dancing. So it was no surprise that these two took advantage of every moment to dance throughout their day. They even had two dance floors for their reception. One for the first dance and other important dances, then the party moved to the top of the barn for a late night dance party, filled with roaring laughter and some impressive line dancing. Jenna and Terril even took time to teach all their guests a line dance.

But of all the dances that night, one stood out as particularly special. As Terril and Jenna put 100% of their focus on glorifying God in every part of the wedding, Terril felt compelled to celebrate his beautiful sister with a dance. His sister has been recovering from a nearly fatal event years ago, which made the moment that much more emotional as Terril gently spun her around on the dance floor. Tears fell down my cheeks as I witnessed the pure worship and gratitude to Our Father for this precious life. As the dance ended, the brothers swarmed their sister immediately in a huge embrace. It was a moment I’ll never forget and I’m proud of this couple for taking a moment to celebrate the testimony of a big and loving God.

And now that I’m crying again, I’ll end with a thank you to Jenna, Terril and their wonderful families for welcoming Jeremy and I into this beautiful day. We got to experience and very special union and can’t wait to witness the world-changing future that lies ahead. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs.
