Romantic Mountain Wedding at Woodlands

Megan and Matt’s gorgeous wedding at Woodlands in Morrison, Colorado was a formal affair, dripping in pink florals and mountain elegance. Capturing the entire wedding weekend from top to bottom was an absolute dream come true! Getting to experience the rehearsal lunch to the final send off, it was a beautiful celebration we felt so grateful to be a part of.

Megan and Matt met in high school, but their love story truly began in college. While Matt will say he had the biggest crush on Megan in high school, they barely spoke to each other back then! Over time, they became best friends in college and eventually started dating their senior year.

In December 2021, they got engaged in New York City during an amazing Christmas trip. They had a blast doing all the typical tourist activities, including ice skating at Rockefeller Center. But nothing could compare to the experience of heading to the top of the building at sunset, where Matt asked Megan to be his wife.

It’s so easy to celebrate this incredible couple! We were thrilled to be able to spend the entire weekend with them, while Megan and Matt were showered with love by their family and friends. The ongoing festivities were such a gift for many guests who traveled to Colorado for the wedding. This special getaway and celebration was certainly one they’ll never forget!

It all began with the rehearsal lunch and welcome party the day before the wedding at Breckenridge Brewery in Littleton, CO. This was such a great way for everyone to mix and mingle, breaking the ice before the big day. We were able to capture all the sweet details Megan put together. Her “Brews Before I Do’s” theme was such a hit!

We were excited to sneak Megan and Matt away for some quick portraits in a row of blossoming trees. We jump at every chance we get for some fun shots to capture every moment of the celebration!

The next morning, we made our way to Morrison, Colorado for their wedding day at Woodlands. The Woodlands is a jaw-dropping, family-owned venue featuring a modern barn nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Located on 52 acres, you’d never know it’s just 30 minutes from downtown Denver!

This is a venue we have been dreaming of shooting at, and it exceeded our expectations! I could not get over the stunning white barn with black trim and accent features. Seriously, all barns should be white. This is not up for debate.

The barn has large sliding doors, opening up to the ceremony site with gorgeous mountain views in the background. Swoon! As if it couldn’t get any better, they have a fully covered and heated side patio which is perfect for any kind of weather Colorado decides to throw at you.

It was so fun to discover the bride and bridesmaids already laughing in their gorgeous, feathered pink robes when we arrived! And the groom was in his suite, which was the perfect place for the guys to chill leading up to portraits. With a big screen tv, pool table, and lots of space to lounge, they could have stayed there for days!

Megan and Matt shared an intimate, private first look in the same location they would soon take their vows. The ceremony site overlooked valleys and mountains, and a stunning arch perfectly framed the couple.

The flowers were an absolute show stopping element of the day, all beautifully created by Emma Lea Floral.

The amazing coordination team at Touch of Bliss did an outstanding job putting together all the details. They truly brought to life every design element the bride dreamed of. We especially loved the champagne wall and escort cards with gold medallions directing guests to their tables!

Cocktail hour featured a yummy charcuterie grazing table by Biscuits and Berries with plenty of yard games and those majestic mountain views! We absolutely loved the full dance floor and nonstop emcee skills by the talented Stage One Events

The absence of the bride’s father was felt throughout the evening, but especially during the mother-daughter dance. The emotions were unavoidable, and everyone watched through tears as the bride’s mother shared a special dance with her sweet daughter.

As guests finished their meals, we snuck the couple out for a stroll. We are always big fans of twinkle lights in the mountains, and we definitely couldn’t let the opportunity pass us by!

Ending the night with a private last dance, surrounded by the remnants of a night well celebrated, the couple then made their way outside for a special Woodlands Sparkler Exit.

Megan and Matt, we’re so thankful that you’re part of the BGP family! Thank you for sharing your special day with us. We wish you all the best as you begin your life together!
