It’s always a good sign that we’ve found our people when we make an instant connection before even taking a single photograph! That’s exactly how we felt after meeting up with Lucy and Sam at Loveland Aleworks. I mean, who doesn’t love talking about weddings over cold beer and lots of laughs!? 

So when they chose us to be their wedding photographer and videographer, we were over the moon excited for what was to come. And we just knew their Rocky Mountain National Park engagement session was going to be a blast! 

Lucy and Sam share a love for adventure and the outdoors, so a mountain engagement was the perfect stepping stone into their future together! After being together over 8 years, this couple definitely knows each other well. Lucy loves adventure, so Sam managed to incorporate a proposal on the way to Breckenridge for a ski weekend. As they stopped to admire the view over Loveland Pass, he popped the question…surrounded by 6 inches of fresh snow! 

Jeremy and I loved venturing back into the mountains with these two for their engagement shoot. Knowing Lucy’s love of sunflowers, we tried to wait as long as we could, but unfortunately the flowers weren’t cooperating and it was difficult to find blooms this time of year. So we pivoted our plans and went with another one of Lucy’s favorites: the Colorado mountains.

Sometimes when things don’t go as planned, you find beauty in the unexpected! Thankfully Lucy and Sam are always up for a spontaneous adventure, so we went up into the mountains in search of some incredible views and vibrant mountain wildflowers. As luck would have it, we found both! 

Some of Lucy and Sam’s favorite memories as a couple include super fun dates, like a ski weekend in Beaver Creek complete with pizza, beer, and a good movie. This just makes the pizza truck they’ll be having at their wedding this weekend even more special!

We love encouraging our BGP couples to treat their engagement session like a date night, so it was sweet to see Lucy and Sam enjoying a picnic by the lake after we wrapped everything up. 

This couple kept us laughing throughout the entire shoot, and it was just so much fun spending time with them! Their love for each other is so apparent, and it is an absolute joy to be a part of their story. 

We absolutely can not wait to celebrate their wedding at Stove Prairie Ranch this weekend! With stunning views and a rustic decor, it’s the perfect backdrop for some pretty spectacular moments. It’s going to be such a memorable day with these two!
