After spending a couple of hours with Kiani and Dalton during their sunset engagement by the Big Thompson River, we were instantly smitten! Sweet Heart Winery was the perfect location to get some great portraits. We hold such a special place in our hearts for military families, and it was so much fun getting to know these two! 

When Kiani and Dalton met on Tinder, some of their first conversations revolved around baseball! Before long, they pitched the idea (yep – we went there) to meet for an in-person date. They met at Oskar Blues and instantly hit it off! After talking for nearly 4 hours, it was obvious there was a strong connection between them. 

In November 2020, they planned to take some fall pictures in the mountains. Dalton took the opportunity to turn the event into an engagement! Kiani’s cousin was their photographer, and captured the entire moment like a dream. Dalton planned the engagement perfectly, because Kiani was completely surprised!  

Military life can be so uncertain, and couples often face lots of moving around and deployments. After going from talking on an app to spending four days a week together, Kiani and Dalton’s relationship continued to grow. Despite the long distance and deployment as they waited for their wedding day, their circumstances only seemed to bring them closer together. Through it all, they found strength in each other and in their love. 

What he loves most about her: 

“She has an incredibly big heart, even though she likes to act like that’s not the case. I love the way she loves who she is, and she isn’t going to change that. She is genuinely herself and I love who that is. Quite frankly, she is the most talented, self-motivated, and driven person that I know.”

What she loves most about him: 

“I love the endless support, and the constant drive to be better and do better. Dalton is incredibly goal oriented but he loves my independent self, and never questions my abilities. He makes me feel safe, loved, and appreciated. He allows me to be my dainty feminine self or switch to my dominant boss self without question!”
