Spring Wedding at Ellis Ranch In Loveland

Jaime and Curtis’ spring wedding at Ellis Ranch was the perfect exclamation point to an already amazing love story!

Jaime and Curtis met online on Hinge, “the dating app designed to be deleted,” in May of 2020, during the peak of lockdown. With nowhere to meet people in person, online dating grew tremendously during that time, which is why it only made sense that Jaime found herself on the app. But it was the picture of a chocolate Lab laying on Curtis that drew her in cause in her words, she’s a “sucker for a pupper!”

On June 26th (also known as Stitch Day for you Disney fans!) Curtis proposed at the top of the Bluffs in Lone Tree. Jaime was completely clueless, which always makes an engagement extra exciting! Curtis’ mom had asked Jaime to join her on a morning hike (along with the dogs, of course!) When they reached the top, Curtis was standing there, surrounded by amazing views and a couple of their good friends.

We adore Jamie and Curtis, and their adventurous personalities! We got to hang with these two about a year ago at the Denver Aquarium for their engagement shoot. It was so much fun wandering around the fish tanks followed by some stunning portraits outdoors. We are seriously huge fans of this sweet couple!

So when their big day arrived, we were thrilled to be a part of it! One thing I noticed immediately…Jaime and Curtis share the sweetest looks. It’s almost like they have a secret language and can read each other’s minds. The sweet smirks on their faces, and the spontaneous laughter that erupted with just a look told told a beautiful love story all day long.

We spent the morning with them getting ready and capturing the details of the day. It was so special to photograph the bride wearing heirloom jewelry worn by generations of family members. We love when our BGP couples are just as nostalgic as we are. Incorporating family heirlooms and traditions add such meaning and go way beyond the logistics of the day.

The nostalgia continued as Jaime shared a sweet first look with her dad at her childhood home. Looking at his beautiful daughter, we’re certain that images of her as a little girl flashed before his eyes as she stood before him in her wedding gown.

The bride and groom shared their own first look, followed by portraits around a nearby lake. The portrait time was extra sweet with lots of laughter. The best part was making a little time for the couple to exchange private vows before the ceremony.

While the skies were overcast, the weather stayed nice throughout the ceremony. When sprinkles finally did start to roll in, we squeezed in some epic bride and groom portraits overlooking the mountain ridges with dark skies in the distance. It made for some stunning lighting and gorgeous photos.

The highlight of the ceremony was the whiskey shots! Jaime and Curtis shared a toast followed by whiskey shots as a unity ceremony. It was such a clever and fun kick-off to the party!

Check out this clever Script:

“Ladies and gentlemen, we are gathered here today to witness the union of two souls in love, and to celebrate that love with the blending of two spirits.

A good whiskey, like a good marriage, warms you from the inside, gives you strength and confidence, and helps you face difficult situations. And just like whiskey, a marriage is there for you, even when the rest of the world may turn its back.

Like any relationship, there may be difficult times. Sometimes whiskey gives you a headache, but you get over it.

And whiskey is always forgiven.

Today, our lovely couple will be blending two spirits together and sealing them in this barrel, to symbolize their unification and the enhancement of their bond over time. Just like whiskey, their love will improve with age.

So let us raise a glass and toast to the happy couple, and to the blending of these two spirits, as they begin their journey together as one.”

When the rain decided to stick around, the rest of the wedding day was moved inside. But not before the couple shared their first dance on the deck under the twinkle lights. It was simply perfection.
Jaime and Curtis, we absolutely love the joy and laughter you share together! Thank you for sharing your beautiful day with us! Jeremy and I wish you all the best!
