On top of the snowcapped mountains of Colorado, this adorable couple celebrated their engagement. With snow falling all around, we captured all the love and magic near Brainard Lake.
We had so much fun adventuring together to find a location with snow; a special request by the groom. Growing up on the East Coast, this bride also had a special place in her heart for the mountains and cold winters. So today was ideal for experiencing all the joys of the season and some seriously cold weather.
But something tells me a little cold wouldn’t stop this resilient couple, who almost missed their opportunity to meet a couple of years ago. After connecting online, Zack and Amber had a phone number mix-up and missed their “first date.” But determined to not let that little detail get in the way, they met up a week later and have been together ever since.
Watching the two of them make silly faces and finish each other’s sentences, you can almost instantly see their connection. It’s a good thing they didn’t miss that chance to meet back in 2016, cause they compliment each other so perfectly. And from the opportunities I’ve shared in getting to know them, I’d say I’m most impressed by their determination to pursue each other passionately and with total humility. They don’t just want a run of the mill marriage, but one that thrives and stands the test of time.
Speaking of determination and resilience, even their engagement had its share of challenges to overcome. Zach had planned a romantic date on their 2 year anniversary and at the same location as that first date. But upon arriving he realized the room was loud and not the environment he had originally pictured. So he came up with a Plan B and asked Amber to join him on a hike at the Devils Backbone, a stunning mountain trail just outside of Loveland.
So pushed to another day, the two of them made their way to the trails. The weather was perfect and an exceptional alternative to his original plan. However, after making numerous stops along the trail, Zack just couldn’t catch a break. Each location he found to propose was filled with distractions of loud crowds and awkward strangers. So after making their way to the top, it was looking like the proposal might need a Plan C. When they turned to head back, Zack hugged his beautiful then-girlfriend and shared his heart. He knelt down on one knee and finally popped the question. While it was nothing like he had planned, the beauty that surrounded them and spontaneity made for the most epic of memories.
I am so looking forward to sharing in their upcoming wedding. It promises to be a day filled with laughter, love, and so many memories. Thank you Amber and Zack for allowing Jeremy and I to capture your love story! We hope you’ve defrosted after our snowy adventure. Enjoy this look back at some of our favorite moments.
