Katie and Jimmy’s wedding at Highlands Ranch Mansion overflowed with romance from start to finish. This venue is simply one of the most breathtaking settings you’ll ever come across. If you’re looking for a real-life fairytale experience, this one checks all the boxes! 

Thunderstorms rolled in and out throughout the day. However, the beauty of a storm is that it transforms the sky into a spectacular backdrop. My photographer heart swoons just a bit anytime the sky shows off, because it just takes portraits to a whole new level. The results were simply gorgeous!  

Katie and Jimmy radiate happiness, and from the moment we arrived, we knew it was going to be a day to remember! 

Fairytale Dreams

Like a real-life princess, Katie was radiant in her stunning gown by Brooklyn Grace. However, her real beauty shines from within. She went above and beyond to be sure every person in attendance knew how special they were in her life. Because gifts happen to be Katie’s love language, she used her special day to take time to shower love on everyone around her.

Before the ceremony, the bride made sure to set aside individual time with the important people in her life. She shared a “Second Mom” first look where she intentionally thanked all the “moms” that helped raise her, including her mom’s best friends. Can you imagine a more emotional and heartfelt moment!?

A champagne wall served as the official greeter as guests arrived. It was such a thoughtful gesture that brought everyone together before taking their seats for the ceremony. 

The Details

Just before the ceremony began, the overcast skies cooled down the temps dramatically. It was as if we had our own fairy godmother granting our every wish, and we were all wishing not to sweat our faces off! It was the sweetest little wink from above, and we were so grateful.

From the bridal suite to the romantic florals, the entire event was bursting with shades of pink. There couldn’t have been a more perfect compliment to the fairytale setting. A ceremony arch perfectly framed the couple as they exchanged their vows. 

Cocktail hour featured a dreamy seating area that made me suddenly question why we don’t all have adorable little couches in our lives. I really need to look into that.

The chairs (pink, of course!) added the perfect romantic touch. Speaking of romance, there was no shortage of it during the gorgeous golden-hour photos we captured with the bride and groom. Soft light bounced off the cobblestone patio, surrounding Katie and Jimmy with a warm glow. 

Party Time

The room was completely transformed into a romantic floral wonderland! Florals cascaded down elevated centerpieces overlooking pearl-trimmed chargers. Chandeliers adorned with stunning blooms tied the decor together. It took my breath away, and added so much decadence to the evening.

A glowing neon sign featuring the bride and groom’s last name was displayed over the head table. It was such a fun, playful addition to the romantic atmosphere.

The culinary experience was beyond words! Footers never disappoints with their outstanding food and drink service. Guests dined on crisp salads and bread, followed by a classic plated dinner. And just like fairytale magic, an entire dessert table featuring a mountain of treats seemed to appear out of thin air! 

Our bride and groom thought of everything, including taking care of their guests with a late-night snack of pimento cheese stuffed pretzels. 

However, the highlight of the evening was without a doubt the impressive photo booth. With props galore and an insanely creative high-tech setup, guests were drawn to the photo booth like a magnet. It was such a fun addition to the party! 

As the evening wound down, Katie and Jimmy took time to savor the remaining moments. Reflecting on the amazing day they’d just experienced, they held each other, swaying back and forth for a private dance. Meanwhile, their doting guests arranged themselves outside in preparation for the send off! 

That’s a Wrap

So many hands are involved in bringing a wedding to life. We were blessed to work with a top notch team! The amazingly talented DJs from Dancin’ Shoes along with Natalie and her team from A Touch of Bliss made this the most enjoyable experience possible. 

Sharing this day with our amazing BGP team member Chris was such a highlight. We love how he flawlessly uses his impressive drone skills to tell a love story. So grateful he was by our side to help make the entire experience come to life! 

Katie and Jimmy exited in a vintage car, which was a gorgeous choice for their romantic castle-themed wedding. The couple waved goodbye to their loved ones as they exited the historic mansion surrounded by a sea of glowing lights. It was the perfect ending to their fairytale wedding.
