Will you have this dance forever? When a country boy meets the love of his life on the dance floor, it’s a fairytale from the start. After getting to re-create this sweet moment during their engagement session at the Grizzly Rose. We couldn’t wait to celebrate their I do’s under the country sky. A gorgeous first dance, sunsets strolling through the grass and a sparkler exit were the highlights of Tiffany and Anthony’s romantic country wedding.
Do you and your other half have a secret handshake? The reason I ask is that one of my favorite things about Tiffany and Anthony is their adorable pinky promises. When you spend time with couples as much as we do, you get to see a lot of variety in the way couples interact. Their secret ways of communicating, handshakes and catchphrases are one of the ways you get to sneak a peek into their real life.
My husband Jeremy and I have lots of silly things that we do, but one of my favorites is when we are trying to get each other’s attention, we throwback to “Three Amigos,” yelling “KA KAH” across the store. And between all the looks and laughter we receive, we always find our way back to each other.
For Tiffany and Anthony, I think the hardest part of the entire day, was being apart from one another. You could see it in their eyes, the very thought of being together again, made their heart drop into their stomach and complete joy come across their face. This was one reason why a First Look was the perfect choice for them. Getting to spend that extra hour alone, just the two of them was exactly what they needed to remember what this day was all about.
Just as we began to head out for our First Looks, in true Colorado fashion, a thunderstorm rolled in stopping us in our tracks. So our big moment had to be put on hold for a bit as we waited the storm out. But why waste time? We made the best of it and headed to the front porch of the groom’s home, where we had fun capturing the groomsmen in their natural element.
As soon as the clouds began to clear, we loaded up again and wandered across the field to a beautiful area for the bride’s father to see her for the first time. It was just the sweetest moment to share together and after they got all the hugs in they could manage, it was time for this bride to see her groom.
Wandering into the trees that lined the river, we found the perfect location for Tiffany and Anthony to share a first look. This was it. The moment they’d been waiting for all day. And after a few deep breaths, Tiffany called Anthony’s name. As their eyes met, the emotion of the day took hold and tears began to flow. Soaking up this time just the two of them, with no obligation to be anywhere, no timeline to maintain, was perfect. The two just stood there in each other’s arms.
People sometimes ask me, why you would choose to do a first look. And the answer is simple: more time together on your wedding day. When you’re a bride walking down the aisle to your future spouse, no first look can rob you of that moment. Cause that moment is when you are walking towards the man you will spend the rest of your life with.
But when you see each other for the first time, don’t you just want to throw your arms around each other and feel all the emotions of that moment? Talk to each other. Be rejuvenated with each other. Once the ceremony is over, you typically go straight into family portraits, bridal party photos and your portraits with just the two of you. Then it’s off to your reception.
When you do a first look, you get to control your day. You get to put in the time for the two of you to be together alone, you get to capture all those beautiful portraits at a chilled outpace. You get to have your bridal party photos done and all that’s left after the ceremony is a few family portraits. It’s just so fun being able to hop over to your cocktail hour and enjoy the fruits of your labor, hug your friends and celebrate your union.
After the first looks were thru for Tiffany and Anthony, we were joined by the bridal party for some fun portraits at the same gorgeous location. Then, it was time to head back to the house and for Tiffany to go back into hiding for the ceremony.
Surrounded by their family and friends, the two shared an emotional I do. And as Tiffany’s eyes welled up at the reality of this amazing man promising to love her forever, I couldn’t help but hold back my own tears. This was what she’d been dreaming of her whole life. To be so deeply loved and cherished, and Anthony is clearly the perfect man for the job.
My husband wore multiple hats that day as the second photographer and the officiant for their ceremony. I’m obviously bias, but he did a beautiful job tying in a Quick-Step Analogy as the key to a successful marriage. For two dancers the message was perfect and will hopefully be a great reminder to them down the road.
Slow – Slow To Anger
Slow– Slow to Speak (Listen First)
Quick– Quick to Forgive
Quick– Quick to Move Forward
Slow– Slow to Forget the Life-Changing Moments
Getting to play a part in a couple’s wedding day is truly a gift, but to play a role in the start of a couple’s marriage is where it’s at. I’m so lucky to share in this journey with my husband. There’s truly no one I’d rather do life with every day.
Yummy Italian food was provided by Pellegrini Ristorante and a night of dancing and laughter filled the barn. The first dance as you can imagine was completely jaw-dropping. Anthony and Tiffany twisted and turned, with spin after spin as Tiffany’s gorgeous gown filled the dance floor. It was like watching Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire swinging around in cowboy boots.
As Tiffany and Anthony prepared to leave, their friends and family gathered with Sparklers for a romantic exit under the stars. The whole day was absolute perfection and we are beyond excited to the amazing life these two will share. Thank you again for welcoming us into your story.
